Reformer Skill
Reformer is a natural language processing (NLP) model introduced by researchers at Google in 2020. It is designed to address the computational challenges associated with training very large-scale transformer models. The Reformer model leverages a novel technique called locality-sensitive hashing (LSH) to reduce the memory requirements during training, making it more scalable than traditional transformer architectures.
One of the key innovations of Reformer is the use of reversible layers, allowing the model to save memory by recomputing activations during the backward pass rather than storing them.
